New Place...A New Place
I moved into a new apartment yesterday, and besides my body aching in places I'm only now discovering I love it. I feel different and much more content in the new place. I think some of it is due to being on the third floor; I feel much safer. The atmosphere is quieter, great views of the pool and golf course, best friend lives in the neighboring building. I'm happy here already. I'd been at my old apartment for almost three years and was beginning to feel stagnant. About three weeks ago I began shutting down mentally there. Laundry went unfolded, food was hanging out in the refrigerator that should have left the premises long ago, and I could feel the antsy anticipation begin to build up. I was ready to get out of there. All of that has since subsided now that I'm in the new place. I think what I like the most is now being able to use the washer and dryer my aunt gave to me a couple of years ago...which means my father, cousin, and I had to haul them both up three flights of stairs...not cute at all. Well, let me go pack up the last few items and clean the old apartment. I am so happy to be in the new place.

Busy week ahead of me...
Whew...I have a full serving of school work and an extra helping of "not enough time" on my plate this week...actually until next Wednesday. But nothing to it but to do it, right?

Though it would be nice to have it....
I want some masculine energy around me. And I'm not talking sexually. I, at this moment, would simply love to have a guy around. It something about that male presence that just puts me at ease. But oh well...its not happening.

Scary Boy
I can't help it. I've taken an interest in paranormal shows and can't help but watch them late at night. And yes, they unnerve me a bit. But I find them fascinating. For the record, I do believe in ghosts. (I've never had a paranormal experience, but I'd like for my one of my deceased uncles to visit me in a manner that wouldn't leave me feeling spooked.) Normally, I'm pretty cool and collected when it comes to the paranormal. But it's something about watching those types of shows...like I'm doing as I type...late at night, alone, that makes you want to close your bedroom door, lock it, and hope ghosts can't find their way through the door and into one's chambers.
Wow...it has been awhile
And I'm sorry about that. I didn't realize how busy graduate school would be. Last semester was supposedly the hardest I'd face in the program. I completed my two foundation courses and finished the semester with 3.375 gpa...which means I satisfied the requirements to upgrade from provisional graduate student to graduate student. I met some good and cute people along the way, and just as many that I won't to forget and hope to not have to deal with again.
I also found out how hard it is to blog about everything that goes on in grad school. Therefore, I'm going to focus more on whatever is on my mind. If it's grad school, my love life (more on that later), my social life, or whatever...I'll blog about that. And since all of that is still being guided by my education the title still fits lol. I'm a stickler for stuff that.
I'll post again sooner rather than later...maybe tonight before I go to bed. Gotta head to class now...every Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 9:00. Whew...

Wowzers
So much has been going on, mostly dealing with school. I have two weeks before my first midterm and am trying to prepare for that. My second midterm will be the following week. This is definitely proving to be a challenge. I'm still trying to find an effective way of taking notes. I'm keeping the faith though, especially after I "cracked" my Communication Theory course last week. Well, I don't know if I "cracked" it, but it sure got a hell of a lot more interesting when I got past the "foundation" readings.
I also am trying to find balance in all this. I'd like to have my evenings and weekends free of school work, except for group projects. I'm still working on that, sometimes I break that balance rule, but its all a work in progress.

Week 2...Whew
Let's just say I realized that I need to put more time and effort into studying. I'm taking the hardest and most boring courses now...Research Methods and Communication Theory...gotta get them out of the way. But damn it if they aren't causing me to glaze over. I'm keeping it in mind that it gets better after this semester. The problem I'm having is trying to find interest in something that isn't really all that interesting. I mean...one course is about finding stuff and the other...well I think Communication Theory will turn out to be interesting in a few weeks. But I need to refocus myself because I'm reading the literature to get it done, rather than reading for comprehension...and that's going to bite me in the ass if I don't get a hold of it now. Also, I have to devote more time to reading the literature. It's quite a bit of reading and it would behoove me to start reading a little each day instead of a ton of reading in four days. But I'll get it under control...no doubt about that. Well, I'm off to Deltona/Orlando/Tampa for the holiday...later!
